At FEI, you can gradually build your competence as your job description changes and your career develops. Our experience is that FEI's course participants have the same goals but a slightly different approach to their studies. Everyone who goes on a course does it to learn more and to be able to apply their newly acquired knowledge to their work. The rationale differs from there on though. Some are satisfied with completing the course and receiving their written proof of course attendance. Others see the usefulness of taking examinations to prove, to themselves or their employer, that the acquired knowledge has really “stuck”. For the latter group, we have divided our courses into three levels: Certificate, Diploma and Master. This presents a unique opportunity to progress from basic courses to courses at an advanced academic level.
CERTIFICATES
A certificate from the FEI has a high merit ranking. It shows that you master a particular subject. Within some subject areas you are required to take the examinations at all levels to acquire the Certificate (for example, Accounting I, II & III or Financial Control I, II & III). Within other areas, you have to pass an overall exam after completing the course (for example, the Certificate in Personnel Administration or the Certificate in Corporate Sustainability Reporting).
DIPLOMAS
Our Diploma courses provide advanced knowledge in a particular area, for example the Diploma in Human Resource Management or the Diploma in Marketing Management. These courses are aimed at those of you who are in, or about to reach, a position where you have personnel or financial responsibilities. The studies comprise several distinct course modules and a final project. Exams are given and graded after each module. A Diploma from the FEI is very highly regarded in the business world and is often seen as an alternative to a university degree.
MASTERS
Through co-operation with well-reputed foreign universities FEI offer opportunities for academic study. Master is an international degree term, which is the approximate equivalent to a Swedish ‘magisterexamen’ at 240 university credit level. The admission requirements is an undergraduate degree or an FEI Diploma combined with relevant professional experience. The Master degree courses are graded through written examinations, written assignments and a final essay.
